[Review] Sleek – oh so special PALETTE

oh so special PALETTE is the most popular eye shadow palette by Sleek, consisting of 12 different shades, which are a combination of matte and metallic colors. It’s an ideal collection of neutral and Smokey eye shadows.

Having 12 diverse shades all in one, it can still be considered a travel size pack. It features a mirror which makes it easy to use anywhere, any-time conveniently. The matte black finish gives the box a pretty decent look with impressive quality. As for its size, I expected it to be little bigger from what I got.

It comes with a double sided sponge applicator which is not preferable to be used as it does not help in blending or picking up enough color.

This is something we all are most concerned about and yes! I Love It! Most of the colors are super pigmented and they stay on for quite a long time.

I have done swatches, after applying primer which is Hydra Sparkling by Givenchy and foundation by Milani which is Conceal + Perfect, on my skin.

The first color Bow is perfect nude, matte and lightest shade in the palette. It is good to give a subtle highlight on the brow bone or perfect for the base application. This shade is pigmented but as it is really light, it may need two to three dab of brush to pick enough color.

Pamper and The Mail, which are somewhat similar in pigmentation like Bow are for base application. They can be used for the transition colors and are completely matte. Pamper is a pure baby pink color and The Mail is a cool golden-brown shade, somewhat Similar to skin color.IMG_4437

Then the other Matte shades are Boxed, Wrapped Up (browns) and Noir (pure black). These three shades are super pigmented and best for defining crease or eye socket. They are really buildable and best to make your eye more defined. I am really impressed with the NOIR, it is the deepest black shade, best to create Smokey look. Boxed and can also be used as a brow color and on the lower lash line for more definition because these are versatile colors.

The rest of the 5 shades are metallic which are Organza, Gateau, Gift Basket, Glitz, and Celebrate.

Organza and Gateau are almost the same but Organza is light-metallic, rose-gold; whereas Gateau is metallic purplish-gold. Both are very pigmented and blend-able shades, best for the inner corner of the eye lid.

Now comes the Gift Basket. It’s almost a metallic version of The Mail or it can be seen as caramel gold shade. Glitz is bluish-silver tone which can be used in combination with the Noir (deep black) or Celebrate which is deep metallic-maroon. Both of these are also much pigmented but Celebrate is a bit less metallic as compared to the other metallic shades.

Overall, it’s a good palette for every day and occasional use and I would definitely recommend it.

  • Easy to use and carry
  • Wearable
  • Smudge proof
  • Many colors to create desired look

  • Small Size
  • Sponge Applicator
